The Delhi Police arrested two robbers yesterday who had allegedly robbed a truck laden with over 900 iPhones. Their luck was so rotten that not only did they get caught but they could only lay their hands on the four-year-old iPhone 5s and not one of the most recent ones, which would have been more valuable.

The robbery took place earlier this week in Vasant Kunj area of Delhi. The market value of these stolen iPhones has been estimated to be Rs 225 million ($375,000).

The police suspect that these two robbers with the help of another two men robbed the truck which was carrying the iPhones. The driver, Kalam Singh was attacked with chilli powder. He was then held captive and was forced to drop the robbers with the iPhones to a remote spot. After reaching the rendezvous point, the robbers offloaded the iPhones to a van and later dumped Singh in a river.

After learning about the incident, the police quickly scrambled through CCTV footage of the Vasant Kunj area and identified the two robbers as Mehtab Alam and Arman. Both men admitted to the crime.

It could be hard to believe for some, but the iPhone 5s is still the best selling iPhone in the country. The iPhone 5s currently sells in the country for roughly Rs 20,000 ($300). In comparison, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will go on sales in India on Oct. 7 starting at Rs 60,000 ($902).
